Sell your BlackBerry or Regret It

Lately, Reasearch in Motion (RIM), the company that makes the BlackBerry Smartphones, seems to be in bad shape. Why is that?

Before the smartphone craze, BlackBerry was the king. If you had a BlackBerry, you were someone, you were important. Now, BlackBerry’s are like the everyman’s smartphone. They sell entry-level models with less than stellar features. That’s good because it allows them to expand their brand to the unexposed.

Still, BlackBerry needs to make very good smartphones than can match with the best, like the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Infuse 4G. As of late, there haven’t been any BlackBerry smartphone that can match the prowess of the Samsung and the Apple smartphones.

BlackBerry might have the Torch model, but it’s still not enough. The screen is still small, which makes browsing the net a tedious task. It can’t offer the same amount of viewing pleasure that the large screens of the iPhone 4S and Infuse 4G can.

Plus, they also lack other features, such as applications. Though the BlackBerry OS has plenty of apps, it’s nowhere near what the Apple iOS or Android offers.

So why should you sell used cell phones anyway?

After owning a BlackBerry for a few months, you may have noticed that they lack plenty of features to rival other brands:

1.      Where are the games?

Though this may seem a little silly, games are one of the biggest selling points in smartphones today. That’s why RIM still can’t branch out and appeal to teenagers and young adults – because it doesn’t have any good games. Everyone wants to play Angry Birds during their downtime.

If BlackBerry users can’t play amazing games, they’ll borrow the iPhones of their fellow smartphones users - a bad sign for RIM.

1.      BlackBerry App World is virtually non-existent

Though this has been mentioned earlier, here are the specific numbers. BlackBerry applications are only about 26,000, while Google Android has over 200,000. The Apple iOS has about 350,000!

When you compare BlackBerry applications with the other competitors, clearly BlackBerry is left behind.

1.      The products are basically the same

Every BlackBerry released lately seems to be the same. From the Torch to the entry-level Curve series, they basically have the same features. The only difference is the quality.

The Torch has a higher quality camera, screen and performance. But when you think about it, plenty of apps for the Curve like Facebook, Twitter can be found on the Torch too. Why buy the very expensive Torch when you can just get the cheaper Curve anyway?

The same also goes for their other phones. They all perform pretty much the same, and look the same too.

1.      Their products are far behind

What’s worse than having products that are basically the same? Products with no innovation!
Every year, BlackBerry just releases the same phone with the same features. There are no updates for their software. They still like to use their own OS to power their phones.

This makes them unique, but if they were to utilize Google Android, their sales could skyrocket and put them back in the smartphone race.

Plus, their phones are not only lagging in performance, but in looks too! They still maintain the QWERTY keyboard. This gives them a unique appearance, but with a cost. They can’t fit larger screens on their phones that can display great looking videos and photos.

That is what other phones like the iPhones are good at. With great displays and futuristic looks, touchscreen smartphones are the future. But when BlackBerry still wants to hold onto the past, they’re in for some really hard times.

You’ll probably want to sell used cell phones now before things get worse for RIM. If you want to acquire the best in the smartphone market, get the iPhone or Google Android smartphones. Check out their features and you’ll see why the BlackBerry is falling behind.

What to Do With a Broken Blackberry

There are many things in life that can cause you great frustration. One of them is when your cell phone ends up damaged. If you have a smartphone, such as a Blackberry, then having it turn up broken can leave you with a lot of questions. What will you do with it? Can you afford to replace it? Is it possible to repair it? What do you do now? The questions are normal and you may find yourself asking them repeatedly. After all, you likely were tied to your phone before it was damaged. Now you have no phone and all you have to show is a broken Blackberry.

Depending on the damage to your phone, it is highly likely that it is unusable in its current condition. There is very little that can go wrong with a Blackberry that will leave it in positive working condition. This means that you have to face those tough questions so that you can once again have a working phone. Taking them one by one and deciding on the answers will help you know what you should do with your current phone.

Is it possible to repair it? The simple answer is yes. Most phones can be repaired. However, that answer is not what you are looking for. What you want to know is whether it is something you can do and, if not, is it something affordable enough to make it worthwhile. Chances are it is not something that you can handle. Unless you happen to understand how to fix a broken phone then you are not going to be any good at trying. Doing so could make it worse than what it already is. You also need the right tools and unless you fix broken phones regularly then you probably do not have those lying around either.

Is going to be affordable to repair the phone? That will depend a lot on the damage that has been done. Generally speaking it costs less to replace a broken Blackberry than it will cost to fix it. That is simply because those that are capable of it will often charge high rates. When you look at the model of the phone and its actual value then it doesn’t often make sense to pay for those repairs. However, there may be some cases in which repair is a feasible option. It is something that you might want to check into before making a final decision.

Can you afford to replace it? Well, that is another tricky question. Most often the answer is no. Typically people do not sit around with hundreds of dollars that just need to be spent. Replacing a phone is not often on the planned to-do list and finding the money to do so can be a pain. That doesn’t mean you can’t replace it. You have the option to sign a new contract and get a discounted rate. You can also choose to buy a used or refurbished model. Both choices will help you save on the cost of your new Blackberry.

What do you now? What will you do with the old Blackberry? These questions tend to go hand in hand. Obviously you will be replacing your phone. Where and how is a decision that only you can make. As for what to do with your broken Blackberry, there is actually an option that you might not have considered. You can sell it. There is a market for broken phones and you could make a little cash for something that you otherwise would just toss in the garbage. This extra money could help offset the cost of a new model and allow you to have the phone that you want.

While it is not an ideal situation to have your Blackberry get damaged or broken, it does not have to be as frustrating as it might seem. There are options. There are inexpensive ways to replace the phone and you can even sell the old model to someone that will repair it and resell it. You might not end up making a lot of money, but you could lower the cost of the new phone you buy and that is always a benefit.

Anyone Can Sell Cell Phone

Technology changes fast and it can be hard to keep up. Just think of all of the times cell phone companies have come out with updated and modern versions of what they already had. It happens often and it can be quite frustrating. Who can afford to constantly upgrade? Yet, occasionally you just want to. You want to get rid of your older model and move towards a new and exciting phone. That means that at least once in a while you will give in to the temptation and upgrade what you have leaving you with an old model that you aren’t quite sure what to do with.

Fortunately, you have answers available to you. Instead of letting that phone go to waste you can sell cell phone and make a little of your money back. The market for used phones is quite large and that puts you in a good position to get rid of your phone. People want new phones or they need to replace a broken phone all the time. Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for an upgrade and many can’t afford to pay what it costs to buy a new phone. This is even more true when they want a nicer phone.

This leaves those people having to choose alternatives to purchasing new phones and the best route that has been found to date is to purchase used phones. Often you can buy a used phone in excellent condition and you get the same thing you would have gotten had you bought it new. The only real difference is that it isn’t new. It may not come in the box. It likely has some wear and tear. Still, for the average buyer that needs a phone on a budget, this is the perfect solution.

For you, this is a blessing. You have the ability to sell cell phone with minimal effort. The better the phone you have to offer, the quicker it will sell. If you have a smartphone or other technologically advanced phone then you will command top dollar when you sell it used. However, it is important to note that even a basic cell phone can earn you slight profit when sold on the used market. There is a buyer for almost all phones and you will find yours if you do things correctly.

You have to first find the time to fully research the market. You want to be sure that you not only sell your phone in the best market for you, but that you also expect the best possible price. It is also important that you do not price your phone too high as that will deter the buyers from even paying attention to your listing. Proper research will give you an idea of which market is best for you, how much you can expect to make and what kind of demand there is for the phone that you currently have to offer.

Sometimes you will decide that it is simply better to sell your phone to a dealer and forget about it. The process is quick and easy but you are stuck with the offer that they give. There is no haggling about price with a dealer so you should be sure that you are happy with the offer. For most the simplicity that comes with selling this way and knowing that the whole thing is taken care of in a matter of days is worth giving up a little bit of the profits that might otherwise have been had.

The decision to sell cell phone is one that many people make in a day. It is an excellent way for you to recover some costs after you have upgraded your phone. It can even take away some of the guilt that comes with spending money on that upgrade. It will not make you rich and you will not recover every dime you’ve put into the phone. However, you aren’t using the phone anyway so taking the time to make a few dollars is worthwhile. You can use the money on your upgrade or simply to buy yourself something nice. Either way, there is a benefit to choosing to sell a used cell phone.
